Approving map changes
How to read a proposed change to your map, and what approving, rejecting, or ignoring it does.
In Ask before edits, the assistant cannot change your map on its own. When it wants to, the message box is replaced by a review of exactly what it intends to do, and it waits.
What the review shows
A proposal is one set of changes, described a row at a time in plain language:
| Row | Means |
|---|---|
| Add | A new node or connection |
| Move | A node repositioned |
| Update | A change to a node's data — a value, a title, a formula |
| Connect | A connection drawn between two nodes |
| Delete | A node or connection removed |
Names in the rows come from the map as the assistant last read it. If you edited the map in the meantime, a row may use an older title.
The set is the unit, not the row
Each proposal is one change set. The rows explain it; they are not separately approvable. Approving applies all of them together, or none.
Your three options
Approve applies the whole set.
Approve all applies every proposal currently waiting, when the assistant has queued more than one.
Reject asks for a note on what to do differently. That note goes back as an ordinary message, so the assistant carries on from your feedback rather than retrying the same thing.
You can also just keep reading. A proposal waits; nothing is applied while you think about it.
Several proposals at once
The assistant can have more than one set waiting. Answering one does not dismiss the others — the ones you have not answered stay in the review, and the one you answered moves into the conversation history where you can see what you decided.
When a proposal cannot be shown
If the change set cannot be turned into a readable preview, approval is disabled rather than offered on a change you cannot inspect. You can still reject it.
Undoing an approved change
Changes the assistant makes are ordinary map changes, so the usual routes apply — but with one important limit.
Undo does not cover agent edits
The undo stack tracks changes made in your browser. A change applied by the assistant is not on it. To reverse one, use Versions to restore the map to a point before it, or edit it back by hand.
In Full access
There is no review. Changes are applied as the assistant decides on them, and the first you see of one is the map changing. See Permission modes.
